NRSP

Established in 1991, NRSP is the largest Rural Support Programme in the country in terms of outreach, staff, and development activities. The organization was established to alleviate poverty by harnessing people’s potential and enabling rural communities to plan, implement and manage development activities in Pakistan. AI Engineers Pakistan Private Limited (AIE-PK) under Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project with National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) as the prime consultant was awarded the contract for the Mapping of Water Supply Services and Quality for entire District Thatta, in the province of Sindh under Water Aid, funded Sustainable WASH (Sus WASH).
The scope of services included analysis of the existing status of all households and public water supply schemes in all 41 UCs of district Thatta. The study covered mapping of all water quality and quantity parameters, undertaking collection and testing of hundreds of samples plus appurtenances of water supply network/scheme at:
• community and institutional level public water supply schemes,
• community and institutional level water supply schemes by NGOs and
• self-supplied household level water supply schemes.
